Floor Edging
0.024" (0.6 mm) thick high-impact polystyrene strip formed with 3/16" (4.8 mm) deep corrugations, bent into L-shape, 9" (229 mm) wide by 5" (127 mm) high, to fit on top of footing and below the edge of a slab on grade. The system shall form a control joint between slab and wall and serve as a thermal break between the slab and footing and/or foundation.

MTI’s Floor Edging and Control Cavity Retrofit System works as a cavity weep detail in a
furred-out, below-grade poured or block wall system because it is a moisture barrier with
vertical channels throughout the wall system that will allow any moisture that may enter the
system from the exterior or condensation that may accumulate on interior surface to gravitate
downward to a drain field/drain tile system, away from furring, insulation, sheet rock and
interior living area.
